The Beach Bear in South Carolina

"The Beach Bear is a small informal restaurant poolside in the Hilton Head Resort. The menu is mostly bar food but is augmented with some tasty additions if you prefer slightly more elegant food. I had a tuna bowl which was excellent. The table service was cordial and prompt. I ate inside but outdoor seating directly adjacent to the pool is also available. Kids will love the offered chicken fingers, burgers, and fries. There is full bar service if you would like a beer, wine or cocktail to complement your meal. There is even an outdoor bar with stools if you prefer not to order a full meal. Dress is very casual with some patrons sporting bathing suits. Tasty food, convenient location, easy low-stress dining combine to make this a recommended stop for families or singles. And...while waiting for your food order, you can peruse selected beach merchandise, household essentials, and souvenirs available for purchase. UPDATE: I had another delicious tuna bowl tonight for supper after enjoying a cocktail by the pool. If you haven't tried the Beach Bear, I highly recommend that you drop by."

"Stopped by the Beach Bear on the way back from the beach to our villa at Hilton Head Resort. The strawberry margarita was on point! So flavorful! My husband had the jalapeño margarita and said it was awesome as well! I also had an order of shrimp and grits bites. Didn’t really know what to expect but they were really good! Will definitely be back to explore the menu more!"

"The Beach Bear is a poolside bar/restaurant located in Building 1 at the Hilton Head Resort. During our week long stay at the resort, we stopped in here countless times, and each time we were greeted with warm welcomes and good vibes. I will be honest, I wasn’t expecting much as far as the food goes. I was thinking it would be like brewery food— decent, but nothing to rave over, as the drinks are the primary focus, but I would be wrong if I said that. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. I got something different everyday and was impressed each time. The drinks were very flavorful as well, I would highly recommend the Watermelon Cooler. All of the bartenders I had the pleasure of speaking with were super friendly and outgoing, and the lovely lady who owns the bar is an absolute gem! This place is super convenient whether you’re hanging out at the pool or on the way back to your room from the beach. There are a couple tables instead and bar stools but it is definitely not formal dine-in, as most people take their food to go and eat it by the pool. There is even a gift shop inside with clothing, hygiene products, beach equipment, jewelry, toys, etc. If you are staying at the Hilton Head Resort, you MUST stop by here!"

"Poolside restaurant and bar inside Hilton Head resort. Had a burger, and it cooked they way I wanted it, and fries. It is a very good and convenient place to eat, and sitting poolside in March was great. Beach Bear is under the covered porch by the pool. Wide variety on the menu too."

"I don't know what I expected, but this was more of a little shop for beach knickknacks that also happens to have a lunch counter. That said, the food was great, esp if you're just grabbing to-go or scarfing down a quick bite before you head off to wherever. It's not really a dine-in kind of place, but there are some tables inside. Everyone is super friendly, too, but the lack of a beach view kinda means you likely wouldn't stay and hang out here."
